As part of Florida Hospital, AGFA has provided the technology for the backbone and database of our Picture Archival Communication System (PACS) as well as all of Florida Hospital's Computed Radiography needs. This allows images to be obtained in a digital format and interpreted from high-resolution monitors. PACS allows Florida Hospital to send images from site to site which assures that the most appropriate radiologist always does the interpretation. The resulting Images are permanently stored on a redundant long-term computer Archive and never lost.

A creative financial acquisition model, developed by AGFA Financial, allowed Florida Hospital to accelerate its PACS deployment, while at the same time, realize the targeted ROI. The initial Radiology PACS implementation was so successful that the system is currently being expanded into an enterprise system.
