Florida Hospital was listed
as one of the nation's top 10 leading hip-knee orthopaedic hospitals
in the May/June issue of AARP Modern Maturity magazine. Modern
Maturity is America's largest circulation magazine and a monthly
publication for the American Association of Retired People (AARP).
The issue includes lists of top 10 hospitals in seven key specialties,
including hip-knee orthopedic hospitals. Florida Hospital was the only Central
Florida hospital to be recognized. In the issue, AARP reports
the findings of a national nonprofit consumer research and information
organization who ranked 1,308 acute care hospitals in metropolitan
areas by surveying more than 20,000 physicians nationwide and
analyzing statistics from federal records of 30 million patient
hospital stays and accreditation scores from JCAHO.
Ken
Bradley, Florida Hospital Senior Vice President, said, "We are thrilled
to know that a respected national organization such as AARP recognizes
the high quality of patient care provided by the orthopaedic team
throughout the Florida Hospital system. As indicated by our orthopaedic volume,
our patients trust us to their care and its nice to know we are
receiving such high-level recognition."
